Just kidding, I'm not going to Brooklyn, but I am trying no coffee. Again. I wasn't a consistent coffee drinker until somewhere around 2009. I have always enjoyed tea and coffee both and I never really needed the boost.
Then I started working at a studio and our only true escape from the silence and shade of the office was a twice a day pilgrimage to Starbucks (when Influx opened that's where we went instead). At first I would always buy a large iced green tea without sugar. I would get 50ยข refills and I loved them. Then iced double espressos. I'm sure I don't have to tell you where it went from there.
I don't go out to coffee as often as I used to (see Jora in Italy for 7 months), but I have a pretty regular morning hot coffee habit and the occasional afternoon cold brew iced coffee with coconut milk. Needless to say I have a habit and I feel pretty tired, so this morning I switched to green tea at the suggestion of Moon Juice's Tumblr. Right now I feel very sleepy. In fact as I'm typing this I'm struggling to keep my eyes open and I've only been awake for 4 hours! I'm going to try it for a week and see how I feel. I'll let you know how it goes.
Have any of you quit coffee? Was it a success? How did you feel? Tired minds want to know.Labels: health and happiness, yum
